slyn (Ashlynn White) is a sound artist, live performer and DJ whose work sits at the intersection of experimental music, sound art, and marine ecology. Drawing on her background in marine biology and frustrations between the disconnect between academics and the arts, her practice aims to explore listening as both a scientific and emotional act. Her live performances and productions often use hydrophones, field recordings, vocals, and textured electronic composition, creating fluid soundscapes.

Alongside Slowfoam, slyn recently co-founded Gravity Pleasure, a label inspired by hydrofeminism and queer ecology, supporting artists in experimental electronics. She also co-runs Skinny Dipping, a Glasgow-based event series that highlights FLINTA artists inhabiting the off-kilter grey space between club/dance, experimental, and ambient music.
